Welcome to my blog!
If you have been a language learner, you would know “your favourite music” is one of the most common questions for beginners to surmount. Yes, I also have been there.
When I was in the UK, I sometimes encountered opportunities to talk about my favourite Japanese song. Of course, the vast majority of my friends and English teachers did not know much about Japanese and needed some explanations about what a song was about.
That was when I realised that I had so much to say. When it comes to Japan, people often mention “anime”, “manga”, “technology”, or “bushi”. But you know what, we are not pretty much about them! J-pop shows tremendously many aspects of Japanese culture and the Japanese language, most of which are not well-known.
In my blog, I would like to share not only English translations of Japanese songs but also some tips for Japanese learners and what those songs remind me of. Japan is not a country of dreams, near-future technologies, or myths; it is just where people live normal lives, which are full of joy, sorrow, and boredom, as your country is. I hope you can feel it here.
